Artist Profile — Cindy Leong
Cindy Leong’s delicate, minimalist works encourage quiet contemplation. Born in Aotearoa / New Zealand with Malaysian-Chinese heritage, Leong's practice investigates the point of convergence where abstract painting methodologies intersect with spiritual and Eastern philosophical thought. Leong is particularly interested in painting as a process of meditation, enforcing stillness and presence during the creation of her works. A dialogue with time is certainly evident in Leong's paintings — each work a culmination of meticulous, repetitive mark making, signifying infinite points in the continuum. “Repetition enables my mind to enter a state of flow. Over time, the brush becomes an extension of my hand; each iteration, each moment, passing through to the next."
We had the pleasure of hosting our third Exhibition with Leighton Contemporary Here at Lair Studio. The perfect space to showcase beautiful artwork.
