Tess:
Optimistic, Brave and Playful
WHAT DOES A SUMMER WEEKEND IN NOOSA TYPICALLY LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?
Tess:
A summer weekend in Noosa has to start off with an early morning swim at Little Cove followed by fish and chippys for lunch always. Afternoon would be a drinks and nibbles watching the sunset over Noosa along the river with people I love, Sundays farmers markets with a juice and my favorite curry, I know wired combo but I love it.
WHAT SPARKS PASSION IN LIFE FOR YOU?
Tess:
Spending time with the people I love, eating good food, swimming the ocean and enjoying the simple pleasure that life has to offer. Finding small joys in my day to feeling gratitude to be able to express my creativity and self.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR WORKS, WHEN DID YOU START CREATING CERAMICS?
Tess:
I started ceramics in 2020, after coming home from overseas I decided to do a Visual arts diploma and found my love for clay, having time to play at home with clay I started making sculptures. I create biomorphic abstract forms form clay using gentle hand building technique and slow intuitive movement to shape the clay into its chosen form. I am taken to another place when I have clay in my hands, I work with the clay to create forms and listen to what the clay wants from me, It is like dance me and the clay slowing , softly moving each finger print is embedded in the clay to tell a story or feeling.
WHAT CAN WE EXPECT TO SEE NEXT FROM YOU?
Tess:
You can expect another solo exhibition from me in the New Year as I am in the works now for the new series of sculptures. New forms in different shapes and sizes working on a few exciting creations, I don’t want to give too much away.
